D. Vijikar was born in Bangalore, a cosmopolitan town in Karnataka, India and completed his training from K.P.G Prabhu Training Centre, Bidadi, Karnataka, under the sponsorship of Canara Bank.

Under the training of a well-known sculptor in Bangalore, Vijikar learned the nettigritties of the art and developed as a genuine artist in the world of sculpting. Vijikar has now been sculpting since last 24 years and possesses skills and expertise in various school of arts and uses traditional tools & techniques for his work.

Vijikar is a very hardworking artist and his dedication makes him spend nights without sleep to complete his work. He has exhibited widely in the Bangalore area in group shows as well as in one-man exhibitions. Vijikar has already carved more than 80 art pieces and has won several awards for his outstanding work.
